President Obama Nominates 1983 Alumni N. Bruce Duthu to National Council of the Humanities

President Barack Obama announced his intent to nominate N. Bruce Duthu, J.D. ’83, to be a member of the National Council of the Humanities.  Duthu is the Frank J. Guarini Associate Dean of the Faculty for International Studies and Interdisciplinary Programs and the Samson Occom Professor of Native American Studies at Dartmouth College.  The Council is a board of twenty-six distinguished private citizens appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate. They advise the chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities.  National Council members serve staggered six-year terms.
