An overall view of commonly asked about legal topics in the U.S. Presented in chart format, it allows state-by-state comparison of current state laws. It is divided by legal categories into eight sections. Each topic subdivided within; gives overview, followed by a table which is a summary of each state's statutes on the particular aspect of law. Administrative Officials Classified By Function provides names of officials with addresses and phone numbers. It is arranged by subject, then alphabetically by state.

This is a quarterly who's who in executive and legislative branches of the fifty state governments. It includes contact information about more than 35,000 leaders and their governments, including the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Subject Compilations of State Laws. By Cheryl R. Nyberg. (Twin Falls, ID: Carol Boast and Cheryl Nyberg).

An annotated bibliography of articles and sections of books, documents and looseleaf services which list citations to state laws on various subjects. It is organized by subject and is updated every year. The newest editions include lists of web-based compilations on the Internet. [REF KF 1 .S9]

Uniform Laws Annotated. (St. Paul, MN: West Publishing Co.).

This set contains model uniform laws on various subjects (e.g., arbitration, child custody, extradition, trade secrets), many of which have been adopted, in some form, by individual states. Each section also includes a Table of Adopting Jurisdictions, which includes the cite to the enacting legislation and the effective date and statutory form of citation. A good source for comparing the laws of several states. This set is kept up to date with pocket parts. [KF 165 .A5]
       National Conference of Commissioners of Uniform State Laws:(NCCUSL):  The organization provides well-drafted legislation geared to uniformity in state laws. Information about their work and their conferences are on this site.
